My name is Alison. I am a film editor based in New York.
I studied cinema and philosophy at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After living in Montreal for five years, I returned home to New York and enrolled at the Manhattan Edit Workshop, where I used various editing softwares. I work mainly with Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro.
I interned at 4th Row Films, where I created a sizzle reel for an upcoming docuseries. I was also responsible for editing weekly promotional content for Remarkable Theater, a non-profit movie theater based in Westport, Connecticut.
The interest I have in film editing is rooted in my passion of philosophy and aesthetics. I consider cinema to be a powerful medium that draws out feeling from the viewer. To me, film has the power to unify our external perception of the world with our internal emotions. The way a film is edited directly influences this experience.
